Live Edge Wood was officially founded in 2019, but its founder and owner, Steve Senn, has working with wood nearly his entire life.

After learning how to hand-carve at the age of 9 from his grandfather, Steve went on to build slab and split log furniture beginning in the 1970s, where his path led him to Live Edge Wood.

Steve and his business partner, Paul Capps (see below), utilize many different techniques: CNC (computerized numerical control), laser-etching, hand-painting, wooden inlays, V-carving, and epoxy pours are some of the many methods Live Edge Wood. Steve also partners with a number of other local artists who specialize in crafts such as pointillism, needlepoint work, and fractal burning, along with other woodworkers.

From mantels to furniture to decor, Live Edge Wood has been supplying western North Carolina with custom-made, artfully-crafted wooden furnishings and fixtures since its foundation.
